Hello fellow weirdos, I have missed you so much! There’s a bit to catch up on as I didn’t write “Here’s What’s Up” last week. So here we go!

31st December 2016

Mr N hosted a Facebook live prayer session for crossing over into the new year – our church doesn’t do crossover night. I prayed along with Him and it was awesome.

New Year’s Day 2017

After carefully crafting my new years day menu, and shopping to make it happen, the man with N in his name said it wasn’t going to happen. As in he stopped me from cooking. He said he would rather we go out and eat.

You guys, I had withdrawal symptoms. Perfectly grilled chicken, fluffy milk bread, delectable creamy coleslaw, charming coconut rice. How was I supposed to forgo making these happen and go to a restaurant and eat things seasoned with salt and pepper? Not cooking is hard for me – like really hard.

After much should-I should-I-not kind of thinking, I shoved my darling ingredients into the freezer and fridge. Then I got ready and off we went to the largest mall in America: the Mall of America. I ate the most delicious pretzels and pretzel nuggets there.

Then it so happened that while at the Mall, I called my friend who is a fellow cookaholic. She said she had made a lot of Egusi Pudding and even invited me to stop by her place and grab some. Oh man, I love friends like this. At her place I ate and went home with a full tummy and a bag of take-home foods.

At the end of the day, I was SO HAPPY that I didn’t have to cook, deal with dirty dishes and all that stuff.

After New Year

I literally woke up on the wrong side of bed with a neck pain that was so intense. I hoped it was just a matter of posture but the situation deteriorated and landed me in the hospital. The hospital experience totally deserves a seperate post. Thanks so much to all of you who prayed for me and sent me messages of hope. I am so blessed to have you!

Last Weekend

Family retreat, guys!

We packed our bags and zoomed off to the neighbouring state, Wisconsin where we spent the weekend with other Christian families. It was a lot of fun at the retreat centre. We learned, prayed and played together. Nothing like being in the same building with Jesus-loving Holy-Ghost filled homo sapiens for three days. Thank God for a great experience.

The retreat was an awesome way to begin the year.

Word for the Year

Declutter. That’s the key thing I want to do in my life this year. I want to live light, focusing only on the things that matter. More on this in subsequent posts. I’m going to declutter everything that needs to be decluttered. No more clutter!

And now…

I’m back home. My neck is pretty much normal. I feel so refreshed and ready to take on the new week. Scrumptious recipes and posts coming your way! It’s a new year, time for a fresh start. Is anyone trying to eat healthy this beginning of the year? That’s where I’m at. I returned home yesterday with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables from the store. Seeing fresh fruits all around me makes me happy.

May this week be a good week for you.

May your prayers be answered.

May the Lord’s face shine upon you.

May you have peace.

Have a great week, my friends!
