THE CRY OF A JOB SEEKER

Oh Lord, today marks two weeks since I lost my job.
In fourteen days, I have not left my house to go to work.Â
In fourteen days I have dropped applications every and anywhere.
Now my heart is panting.
How I’m I going to feed my wife and kids?
How will I survive?
How will I pay the house rent?
What will I do when the money in the bank gets finished?
This was not the plan. Lord.
You said you were opening great doors for me.
You said my latter shall be greater than the former.
You said you were going to make a way in the wilderness.
And now this happens?
Lord, it is all so confusing.
You know how hard I struggled to get that job.
You know how many applications I dropped.
You now how much I prayed.
Only to lose it after a year?
It’s not fair!
I dread going back to being a job seeker!Â
I dread not knowing where tomorrows’ bread will come from.
I dread the unknown.
Why Lord, why?
Sometimes, God writes stories for us that we don’t want Him to write. Life has unexpected twists and turns: sudden job loss, no life partner when we think we should be married, no kids when we think we should be parents, lots of difficulties when we think life should be easier by now. But we have to trust that all things work for our good. We must remember that God’s way is not necessarily the easiest way but it is the best way. We must remember that casting our cares on Him makes the burden lighter. What is that unexpected turn in your life today? Just cast it on Jesus. Cast that sickness on Him. Cast that heartbreak on Him. Surrender that difficult marriage to Him. Trust Him for a change in that unbecoming situation. He is able and He loves you. He is there even when you can’t see Him. He promised to be with you even in the fire. And true to His word, in that fire, He is right there with you.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
This was so uplifting and heartwarming. God bless you.
Amen. God bless you too.
