Instructions
Rinse And Dry The Strawberries. Rinse the strawberries thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels. I like to pat the strawberries dry with paper towels one at a time to ensure that they are well dried and also to be able to use them immediately. You could also let the strawberries air dry or let them dry overnight in the fridge.
Melt The Chocolate. Use the double boiler method to melt the chocolate. Place a small pot on medium heat with water in the pot up to 2 inches. Meanwhile, place chocolate in a small mixing bowl (I used a small Pyrex mixing bowl). Let the water heat up to a simmer (do not boil water) then place the bowl with the chocolate on top of the simmering pot. Keep stirring with a spatula until the chocolate melts. Alternately, melt the chocolate in the microwave.Microwave method: Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high 30 minutes at a time until melted. Remove after the microwave after every 30 seconds and stir. Once the chocolate is melted stop heating it up as it could burn.
Dip The Strawberries Into The Chocolate. Gather the leaves on a strawberry with your fingers and dip it into the melted chocolate. You'll have to dip a few times to ensure that the chocolate completely coats the strawberries. Place the chocolate dipped strawberry on a tray lined with parchment paper. Repeat the process with all of the strawberries.
Let The Strawberries Set. Let the strawberries set at room temperature for about 30 minutes until the chocolate hardens and looks matte. To speed up the process, place the strawberries into the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
Serve. Serve and enjoy on the same day as made.
Notes
1. Chocolate-covered strawberries are best enjoyed on the same day as made.2. If you would love to add any nuts or sprinkles, sprinkle on the nuts/sprinkles as soon as you dip the strawberries in the chocolate.3. If you would love to drizzle white chocolate on the strawberries or more of the same color of chocolate used, do that as soon as the first coating of chocolate sets. Then let the drizzled-on chocolate set before you enjoy.4. Check the blog post for lots of tips.
