About Precious Core

I started Precious Core in 2014 as a hobby blog. Then, I was a stay-at-home mom of 2 little girls and I needed something I could do for myself apart from taking care of my kiddos. I got an urge to start writing so I started this blog to share my stories.

Since I was obsessed with cooking and was constantly sharing photos of the food I had made on Facebook, I decided to also start sharing my recipes on the blog.

I also wanted to put my recipes on the blog because I got tired of constantly typing recipes to send to family members and friends. I thought, if I could just put all my recipes in one place, it would be easy for my friends and family to find them.

From the moment I published my first recipe, I could tell that my audience loved the recipe content so much and I kept getting requests for more recipes. So Precious Core evolved to be about insanely delicious recipes. Here, you will find home-cooked meals ranging from dinners to desserts, and everything in between!

My YouTube cooking channel, Precious Kitchen, has over 120,000 subscribers. You can watch a bit of my story in this TV segment.

My Family

I have been married to my husband Fidelis since 2009 and we are now blessed with 5 amazing girls! I am so thankful to be able to work from home, spend time with my girls, and homeschool them.

My girls together with my husband are my official taste testers and recipe critics. When I make a recipe I often ask them if it is “blog-worthy” before I put it on the blog. They are also my greatest cheerleaders because they greatly appreciate most of the food I make.

I fondly call my husband the CTO (Chief Tasting Officer) because he is the one who inhales most of the delicious food you see here all in the name of “tasting to see if the recipe is right”!

My family immigrated from Cameroon, Central Africa to the United States in 2013. We were blessed to have won the American Diversity Visa Lottery which allowed us to move to the United States as permanent residents and live our own part of the American dream.

We currently live in Southern California and we love the amazing weather here! We are believers in Jesus and our faith in God is the central part of our lives.

Why I do What I Do

Providing you with really tasty recipes is my jam. If you follow my recipes as stated then you can be sure you will make meals that are as delicious as the ones I make.

Growing up, I had people compliment my meals all the time. I was always told by friends and family that my meals tasted exceptional. Cooking was just pure talent from the start and I didn’t know one day I will be able to share my cooking skills with others on such a larger scale!

My first official training in cooking was in my Food and Nutrition Class in Secondary school. It was there that I learned how to bake the perfect plain cake, make homemade mayonnaise and lots of other techniques in cooking.

Apart from the skills I learned in Food and Nutrition class, most of the cooking skills I have learned come from my mom and grandma, who are both great cooks, friends, and family, trying food in restaurants, travelling and trying numerous foods, and my growing collection of cookbooks!

When I eat something delicious at someone’s house or a party or event, I often ask how it was made. Most times, the cook is generous enough to tell me how they made it, and then I go home and try it for myself. I have learned how to make many delicious recipes this way.

In my early years, I wanted to cook more often but I couldn’t because I couldn’t afford a lot of ingredients. I am so thankful that now I can cook anything I like. Cooking is so energizing and therapeutic to me. I love it!

I am absolutely satisfied with the job I do, which is providing recipes for you that work. My day is totally made when someone tells me how they enjoyed a recipe they made from Precious Core. That’s the kind of feedback that keeps me going.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, and a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication. My educational background has helped me write constantly here and on my social media channels.

My Promise To You

I promise to provide you with only the tastiest of recipes. There will be no fluff or fillers here. As I test my way through recipes I will only share with you the results that I am very pleased with.

My recipes will always be approachable, effective, and insanely delicious!

The Team

For now, Precious Core is mostly a one-woman show with me being the recipe developer, food photographer, video personality, sometimes videographer, video editor, and writer.

My amazing husband, Fidelis shoots most of the cooking videos you see here and on my YouTube channel.

Working on here entails a lot and could get overwhelming sometimes so I’m looking forward to adding more members to my team in the near future.
