The one and only homemade waffles recipe you will ever need. The waffles are slightly crispy around the edges, fluffy in the middle, perfectly spiced and great for soaking up your favorite toppings.

Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 281.25 grams
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups whole milk 480 ml
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon powder.

  2. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

  3. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture then whisk together until all ingredients are incorporated. Do not overmix.

  4. Cook the mixture in a waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. It takes about a quarter cup of batter to make one waffle.

  5. Serve warm with your favorite toppings and enjoy.

Recipe Notes

Place leftover waffles in a ziploc bag and close then store in the fridge or freezer. They reheat well in the microwave or taster.
