If you love groundnuts you would loooove Peanut Burger Snack. This is a snack made by coating groundnuts otherwise known as peanuts with flour and other ingredients.
Oh my! Does deliciousness come any better than this? Peanut Burger is so crunchy, slightly sweet, nutty and so addicting!
Warning: these little balls of food ecstasy won’t last long after you make them. You might start making them every week! I’m not complaining, though.
Peanut Burger is a well-known snack in Nigeria and Ghana. I first fell in love with the commercial brand version in Nigeria. I could never get enough of it.
It was fast gaining popularity in Cameroon before I left. It is colloquially called “peanuts” there. I could see it in so many stores and snack stands.
I don’t know if that is still the case. Are “Peanuts” still so popular in pays? Please let me know below if you are in Cameroon right now.
So a while ago I got a couple of requests to do a recipe for this. I was mad at myself for not making this in a long time… over two years! Why Precious, why??? I repent.
Making Peanut Burger Snack could be time-consuming but it is quite easy and the taste pays for the time. I promise.
All you need is some raw peanuts. Then you coat the peanuts with some flour, eggs, sugar salt and nutmeg if you like. Viola, peanut burger!

It is okay to have some flour at the base of your bowl when coating the groundnuts. Make sure you separate the nuts from the flour before frying.

Hi Precious, thanks for sharing the recipe,
however, I would like know, which type of flour do you use, is it the normal wheat flour and please let me know the amount of everything if i am making a kg of peanut burger, thank you.
Hi Jannat,
Yes it’s the normal flour used in baking. This recipe uses one quarter kg of flour (which is equal to 2 cups of flour). To get the quantity of ingredients for 1 kg of flour, simply multiply every ingredient in the recipe by 4 (8 cups of flour make 1 kg).
Hope this helps.
wow! really appreciate you, tanks for d recipe. more knowledge to u. will like to know how many eggs to use if my groundnuts is half paint and d flour measurements. tanks
Hi Betty, I’m not sure what you mean by half paint. But the flour in this recipe is equal to half a kilogram. Hope this gives you an idea of how many eggs you need for for the quantity of flour you want to use.
Hello Precious
thankyou for such a precious blog but i av a question abt using egg instead of liquid milk. will d yoke in d egg be used aswell or removed before use.
Hi, yes you use the whole eggs – both egg whites and yolk. Please watch the video in the post.
Hi Precious.
Thanks for all these yummy recipes. Have turned out to be a baker after you.
What measurement of cup should I use for the peanuts. Will 235 ml be suitable or rather give me your own measurement. Keep it up dear. Thanks
Yes 235 ml is suitable, dear. Thanks so much for your kind words!
Thanks. The blog had made me learn so many recipes.
So glad to hear that, Rosine.
Hi Precious, y is it that ours is not as smooth as the ones packaged for public consumption in the market? Will need your response soon please.
Hi Victoria, sorry I can’t really tell why.
Thanks Precious for dis blog. Pls is milk required in it? And what does it do to it? Pls am about preparing for my own.
Thanks pre, do u know the first tym i watched this , I started making peanuts immediately n guess what? It came out nice n crispy though not very smooth like it should be
Hi Janet, glad to know that it came out nice the first time. Maybe add a little more flour and shake to make it smoother when you try again. Thanks for sharing, dear.
hi precious, thanks a lot but I tried making it n it didn’t go well.
I poured my raw groundnut inside boiling water n left it inside for abt 2-3 minutes.
I removed it from d water n aired it to dry for abt 10min but after frying d peanut, d groundnut ended up still being raw.
how did DAT happen, did I miss something?
thanx
Hi Dessy,
Did you follow my exact recipe? I never put the groundnut in boiling water. I coat the groundnuts raw and after frying, they are usually thoroughly cooked. Maybe your oil was too hot so your coating got brown without the heat getting to the groundnuts.
Precious I appreciate your work, mine came out strong while chewing them, please how do I make it crispy.
Hi Ogechi, sorry for the late response. Did you use baking powder? Did you follow my exact recipe? It should be very crispy if you did that.
